Head of School Search
At the September 2009 Houghton Academy Board of Trustees meeting, Headmaster Philip G. Stockin informed the Board of his intent to retire from the Headmaster position in the summer of 2011. While more than 18 months away, the Board felt that it was important to immediately begin the recruitment process with the goal of naming a new Head of School no later than December 2010. A subcommittee of the Board was named to oversee the search process.
It is important to note that, if the candidate the Board feels is best suited to lead the Academy into the future is identified before December 2010, an announcement regarding the new Head of School will be made and the process will end. Therefore, interested candidates are encouraged to submit application materials as soon as possible.
It is anticipated that the new Head of School will begin working at the Academy no later than July 2011.
