Accountability
Reflecting the Biblical principle that one reaps what one sows, Academy students learn the freedom that comes from accepting responsibility for their attitudes and actions. While recognizing the singular set of skills and abilities which make each student uniquely human, our faculty also recognize that each student makes daily choices as to how to employ that skill-set. Laziness has a price; diligence has a reward. We do our best to help our students know the difference between “I can’t” and “It’s too hard.”
Houghton Academy makes no apologies for setting a high standard and then holding our students to that standard. We challenge our students to overcome their excuses and attain their goals through hard work and discipline.
