Prospective Students' Day
February 18, 2019
Houghton Academy will host a Prospective Students’ Day on February 18, 2019, for students throughout Western New York, entering grades 6-12 for the 2019-2020 school year. The day will run from 8:00 am - 3:10 pm.
Prospective Students’ Day will give students the chance to experience a normal school day at Houghton Academy. Current students will serve as hosts to visitors as they meet with teachers, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and attend classes with young people from around the world. Whether their child is attending the day-long class visitation or not, parents are invited to a special Q&A Forum from 2:30 – 3:10 pm with the Academy’s academic and admission officers.
“From its founding, Houghton Academy has striven to prepare young men and women for the challenges of the day,” states John Nelson, Head of School. “In the 21st century, this includes a different palette of courses and activities than even 20 years ago and hugely different from the early 1880s when the Academy started, but we have not lost our focus on living with meaning and on significant learning that prepares students to lead like servants. Your visit will clarify this as you experience a Christian community whose core values support living for Jesus.”
Houghton Academy has offered an exceptional college preparatory education based on a Christian worldview since 1883. Students from across the globe are prepared to live authentically, learn deeply, lead globally, and love boldly for the glory of God.
