Integration
At the heart of a good Christian school is a Christian philosophy of education. At the heart of a Christian philosophy of education is a concept called integration. To integrate is to incorporate parts into a whole; the parts that combine into a whole at Houghton Academy are faith and learning. In every class in every subject, in curricular and extra-curricular activities, in the school and in the dorm, the adults are committed to helping students view the world through “Christian-colored glasses.” All education originates from and in turn propagates some view of the world; Academy faculty and staff are intentional in their efforts to inculcate our students with an understanding of the world that is consistent with Scripture.
