Girls' Dorm Head Resident
- BA Houghton College
I originate from York, Pennsylvania, where the majority of my family resides. I graduated from Houghton College in 2017 with a BA in Intercultural Studies, concentration in TESOL, and a minor in Education. Growing up my parents were linguists with SIL, and we moved every few years as they received different language assignments. I spent time living in France, Togo, and Mexico, and I understand many of the challenges of being immersed in a new culture and language.
During my four years at Houghton I enjoyed tutoring at Houghton Academy and working with resettled refugee families in Buffalo. I also spent time studying abroad in Honduras and New Zealand, which were vastly different experiences but both incredible opportunities. Post-college I spent a year working with elementary students at Sinking Springs Elementary in Pennsylvania. After much prayer I decided to pursue my CELTA, a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages issued by Cambridge University in Seville.
I enjoy drinking hot tea, being out in nature, and spending quality time with people. I would love to get to know you, so feel free to say hello!
