Boys' Dorm Head Resident

  • B.S. Houghton College

I am the Head Resident of the boys' dormitory and will be responsible for the residents’ well-being, after school activities, home life, and maintaining a cohesive, structured environment where all boys will feel cared for and respected.  I have already had an opportunity to get to know many of these boys, including last year’s graduated seniors.  Some activities that I have participated in include: sports activities, dorm -hosted party, and an outing to a state park.  I hope to be a positive role-model, treat all students fairly, and assist in daily concerns.

I spent most of my childhood and teen years overseas (Japan) and understand the challenges of being outside of one’s country of origin.  However, there are many, many experiences that I had the opportunity to be a part of and consider these as treasures in my heart.  It is tempting to look at our differences as a way to separate but I believe that Christ brings us together.

I enjoy playing sports, and played basketball and soccer in high school.  Upon high school completion I attended a 1-year Bible school in Sweden.  While there, I was involved with teaching basketball to all school levels at a 1 week basketball camp for boys in Poland.  I also volunteered on Boracay Island in the Philippines where I worked with 8 different school groups who came to donate time and effort in building a school/clinic/ church building which is now completed.  I enjoy carpentry work and have been trained in timber frame joinery and log construction.

Psalm 133:1 “Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!”
