Financial Aid & Scholarships

While our tuition, room and board are on the low end when compared to comparable boarding programs, some sticker-shock may be inevitable. This is especially true for families considering a transition from American public education to a private boarding school. Rest assured we understand this, and we are committed to doing all we can to help you afford to attend Houghton Academy.

While Houghton Academy does not currently offer merit-based scholarships, we do offer need-based financial aid. Many families apply for aid, and as an institution, we are happy to help as we are able. Applicants requiring aid should request a financial aid application from us and return it with their application for admission.

The financial aid process is similar (but easier) to what families encounter when sending a child to college. We'll review your application for financial aid, then we'll contact you with an amount which we expect/hope you will be able to afford. We are happy to dialogue with you about this.

After a student has applied for and been approved for admission, we will review their completed application for financial aid. Offers of admission will contain financial aid offers as well.

Houghton Academy is fully-accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSCSA) as well as The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). More
