Houghton University Access / Dual Enrollment

Houghton Academy is fortunate to have Houghton University located within a five-minute walk of our campus. As the Academy and the University were birthed from the same school in 1883 (i.e., Houghton Seminary), the University continues to provide Academy students access to their extensive library, bookstore, recreation and athletic center, Olympic-size pool, musical concerts, drama productions, famous speakers, and unlimited food court! Academy students are allowed with permission to participate in university classes and selected extracurriculars (e.g., University Band, Calculus, Chemistry, The Ancient World, Mass Media, Microeconomics, Psychology, Sociology, World Literature, Linguistics, and Cultural Anthropology) and receive University credit that may transfer in the future to the university or college of their choice (potentially saving families thousands of dollars in future higher education tuition).
